S. National Chemistry Olympiad (USNCO) is a multi-tiered competition among high school students aimed at stimulating and promoting excellence in chemistry.&nbsp; Every year since 1984, four most competitive students nationally represent the United States team at the International Chemistry Olympiad. The Chemistry Olympiad competition consists of the following four rounds:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Local Section Exam<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>National Exam<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Study Camp<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>International Chemistry Olympiad<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Midland Section of the American Chemical Society coordinates Local Section Exam and National Exam stages of the USNCO.&nbsp; In March 2025, 74 students from five high schools located in four counties in mid-Michigan participated in the Local Exam.&nbsp; Nine high scoring students from Bay, Isabella, Midland, and Saginaw counties took part in the National Exam on April 12<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;at Saginaw Valley State University.&nbsp; The students who participated in the Local Section Exam were recognized with ACS certificates.
